It establishes the Consumer Affairs Board and defines its functions and powers. The Board shall, among other things, ensure and protect the rights of consumers and, in particular review and keep under review business practices, regulate product safety, ensure the provision of adequate information to the consumer and monitor the quality of services. The Minister may make Regulations generally for any matter the Minister considers necessary to give effect to this Act and, in particular, may regulate the date stamping of food products and the sale at discounted prices of out of date food products.
