Abstract

These Rules, made under section 7 of the Societies for the Prevention for Cruelty to Animals Act by the National Council of Societies, concern the establishment, public recognition, organization, administration and operation of societies that are involved in the protection of animals against cruel behaviour of human beings. The Rules provide, among other things, for investigation into complaints about cruelty and require societies to take certain measures to protect animals. Societies shall observe rules regarding the keeping of animals for breeding or the keeping of exotic animals.
