Abstract

This Notice, made by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture under section 8 of the Conservation of Agricultural Resources Act, establishes a Bush Control Scheme. This Scheme shall promote the combating of certain invader plants with a view of maintaining production potential of agricultural land. The Scheme shall apply to all land in an area specified in the Table to these Regulations, except to land specified in section 2 of the Act. The Scheme provides for incentives to be granted to participants in the Scheme. Incentives may be granted on the basis of specified criteria for areal spraying of weed killer, hand spraying of weed killer, and stem burning if such method is in accordance with the classification of infestation (i.e. heavy, medium or light). Combating of invaders plans shall be approved by the Executive Officer.
