It also requires Members planning to use any type of vessel or vessels to conduct fishing for research purposes when the estimated seasonal research catch is as specified to undertake certain action in respect of Research Plans. Other requirements for research activities concern observers on board, reporting on activities and the automated satellite-linked vessel monitoring system. Article 4 provides for reporting requirements, and Article 6 elaborates that notifications for research activities shall be subject to the CCAMLR Notification Fees Procedure with payment due by 1 July.
