Animals must come from holding yards certified to be free from Foot and Mouth Disease, Rinderpest and Anthrax, and must also have been slaughtered at approved abattoirs as per regulations 3 and 4. Further provisions regard packaging and storage sanitary conditions. Regulation 4 deals with transport conditions and veterinary health certificates that must accompany meat consignments.
