Abstract

This Law, consisting of 47 articles divided into seven Chapters, provides for the Environmental Regulation Programme (PRA), the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR), the Environmental Regularization of Rural Property and the Environmental Licensing of activities that pollute or use natural resources, within the State of Mato Grosso. The Environmental Regularization Programme (PRA) aims to adjust and promote the regularization of the environmental liabilities of rural properties within the State of Mato Grosso, through actions or initiatives to be developed by owners, as established in Chapter XIII of Federal Law No. 12.651 of 25 May 2012; Chapter III of Federal Decree No. 7.830 of 17 October 2012; and in Chapter II of Federal Decree No. 8.235 of 5 May 2014. After joining the PRA and while the commitment term is being fulfilled, the owner or owner of rural property can not be assessed for infractions committed before July 22, 2008, regarding the irregular suppression of vegetation in Areas of Permanent Preservation, Reserve Legal and Restricted Use.
