This Complementary Law enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Complementary Law, consisting of 18 articles and one Annex, creates the Institute of Colonization and Land of the State of Rondônia (ICOTERON), linked to State Secretariat for Agriculture, Production and Socio-Economic Development (SEAPES). ICOTERON is an implementing agency of the land policy and colonization of the State, with powers of representation to promote collection of lands, to recognize the legitimate possessions, to dispose of the land cleared, to receive land owned by the Federal Government, and also to promote land regularization in all lands owned by the State of Rondônia. ICOTERON is responsible for: cooperate in formulating and implementing the State's agrarian policy; carry out settler colonization projects, promoting the distribution of land with small producers, non-owners and ex-beneficiaries of land, within the guidelines and objectives of integrated rural development programmes; promote collection of resources destined to land and colonization programmes; adopt the necessary measures for the titling of holdings, respecting the legislation; organize the State Rural Cadastre; etc.
