This Agreement concerns assistance of the United States and cooperation between the countries in matters of foreign affairs and other matters such as environmental protection. The conduct of foreign affairs relating to law of the sea and marine resources matters, including the harvesting, conservation, exploration or exploitation of living and non-living resources from the sea, seabed or subsoil to the full extent recognized under international law shall be included in the capacity to conduct foreign affairs of the Marshall Islands. As for environmental protection, the countries shall promote efforts to prevent or eliminate damage to the environment and biosphere and to enrich understanding of the natural resources of the Republic of the Marshall Islands. The United States shall for its military activities apply US environmental protection standards, policy and legislation. The Government of the Republic of the Marshall Islands shall continue to develop and implement standards and procedures to protect its environment. Full text English Website www.paclii.org
