Entry into force notes
This Act commences on the day after it receives the Royal Assent.
Abstract

This Act makes provision for the nomination and selection of sites for the facilities for the management of controlled material generated, possessed or controlled by the Commonwealth or a Commonwealth entity. "Controlled material" means controlled material within the meaning of the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Act 1998, but does not include high-level radioactive material or spent nuclear fuel. The Act provides also for compensation of expropriated property.
