Abstract This Act makes provision for the nomination and selection of sites for the facilities for the management of controlled material generated, possessed or controlled by the Commonwealth or a Commonwealth entity. "Controlled material" means controlled material within the meaning of the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Act 1998, but does not include high-level radioactive material or spent nuclear fuel. The Act provides also for compensation of expropriated property.
