This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 January 2015 and shall apply until 31 December 2020.
Abstract

This Regulation shall apply to aid granted to small and medium-sized enterprises active in the production, processing or marketing of fishery and aquaculture products, and also to aid granted to undertakings active in the production, processing or marketing of fishery and aquaculture products to make good the damage caused by natural disasters. The categories of aid in the fields of sustainable development of fisheries and aquaculture, marketing and processing related measures, and others include innovation; advisory services; partnership between scientists and fishermen; promoting human capital, job creation and social dialogue; diversification and new forms of income; start-up support for young fishermen; improving health and safety; mutual funds for adverse climatic events and environmental incidents; support systems of allocation of fishing opportunities; design and implementation of conservation measures and regional cooperation; limiting the impact of fishing on the marine environment and the protection of species; innovation linked to the conservation of marine biological resources; protection and restoration of marine biodiversity and ecosystems and compensation regimes in the framework of sustainable fishing activities; improving energy efficiency; mitigation of the effects of climate change; added value, product quality and use of unwanted catches; fishing ports, landing sites, auction halls and shelters; inland fishing and inland aquatic fauna and flora; innovation in aquaculture; productive investments in aquaculture; management, relief and advisory services for aquaculture farms; human capital and networking in aquaculture; increasing the potential of aquaculture sites; encouraging new aquaculture farmers practising sustainable aquaculture; conversion to eco-management and audit schemes and organic aquaculture; aquaculture providing environmental services; public health measures; animal health and welfare measures; aquaculture stock insurance; marketing measures; processing of fishery and aquaculture products; data collection; making good the damage caused by natural disasters; and tax exemptions or reductions.
