Abstract

This Regulation lays down provisions for the implementation of Council Directives 90/426/EEC and 90/427/EEC, which deal with the movement and import from third countries of equidae and set out zootechnical and genealogical conditions for intra-Community trade in equines, respectively. In particular, the Regulation establishes rules on the identification of equines (i) born in the European Community, or (ii) released for free circulation within the European Community.
