Entry into force notes

This Regulation shall enter into force on 27 December 1998.

Abstract

The designation of the origin of extra virgin and virgin olive on packaging intended for consumers in the Member States or on labels attached to those packaging shall be optional. If that option is taken up by an operator designation of the origin shall be authorized solely in accordance with the provisions of this Regulation. The designation of the origin of other olive oils and olive-residue oils on packagings intended for consumers in the Member States or on labels attached to those packaging
