Abstract

The present Regulation lays down some addenda to Regulation (EU) No. 29/2012 on marketing standards for olive oil, in particular as regards labelling. It stipulates that information on the special preservation conditions for oils subject to article 1(1), namely that they must be stored away from light and heat, shall appear on their containers or on labels attached to them. In addition, each Member State shall verify the accuracy of the labelling, in particular the conformity of the trade name of the product with the contents of the container, on the basis of risk analysis as referred to in article 2a of Regulation (EEC) No. 2568/91.
