This Regulation shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.

Abstract

This Regulation establishes measures to prevent the introduction into and the movement, holding, multiplication or release within the Union of Tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV). The measures set out in this Regulation include: (I) measures in the case of suspicion or awareness of the presence of the specified pest, (II) annual surveys for the presence of the specified pest, (III) measures in case of confirmed presence of the specified pest, (IV) movement of the specified seeds and plants for planting within the Union if they are accompanied by a plant passport, (V) introduction into the Union of the specified seeds and plants for planting if they are accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate, and (VI) official checks on introduction into the Union. Furthermore, this Regulation replaces the date ‘31 May 2023’ by ‘31 August 2023’ in Article 12 of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1191.
