Abstract

Best available techniques (BAT) conclusions are the reference for setting permit conditions for installations covered by Chapter II of Directive 2010/75/EU and competent authorities should set emission limit values which ensure that, under normal operating conditions, emissions do not exceed the emission levels associated with the best available techniques as laid down in the BAT conclusions. This Decision establishes the BAT for the intensive rearing of poultry or pigs. They cover the following on-farm processes and activities: (i) nutritional management of poultry and pigs; (ii) feed preparation (milling, mixing and storage); (iii) rearing of poultry and pigs; (iv) collection and storage of manure; (v) processing of manure; (vi) manure landspreading; (vii) storage of dead animals.
