Abstract

In view of the fact that an outbreak of avian inlfuenza has been detected in the United States of America, Member States are required to suspend the importation from its territory of: (a) live poultry, ratites, farmed and wild feathered game and hatching eggs of these species; (b) birds other than poultry, including pet birds accompanying their owners; and (c) eggs for human consumption. Member States shall also suspend the importation from the United States of: (a) fresh meat of poultry, ratites, farmed and wild feathered game; and (b) meat preparations and meat products consisting of, or containing meat of, those species. Article 3 lays down particular derogations.
