Abstract

This Decision establishes harmonized animal health rules applicable to the importation of: (a) live molluscs, their eggs and gametes, for further growth, fattening or relaying; and (b) live molluscs and non viable molluscs for immediate human consumption or further processing before human consumption. The rules shall not cover the importation of ornamental molluscs kept permanently in aquariums. Annex II contains the model of the health certificate that shall accompany consignments. Annex III lays down explanatory notes in respect of certification and labelling. Annex V sets out minimum health conditions for the approval of “approved import centres”.
