Articles 2 (2) and 4 (2) specify the conditions under which, by way of derogation from such prohibition, fresh pigmeat and pigmeat products may be sent to areas outside the region of Sardinia. The products shall be accompanied by a special health certificate. Article 7 requires Italy to establish a National Coordination and Monitoring Committee which shall in particular (i) collect data on the surveillance activities carried out by authorities of the region of Sardinia, (ii) have data-handling facilities, and (iii) have rapid communication links with the region of Sardinia.
