On the other side, the introduction of salmonid ova for breeding purposes shall be permitted as long as the ova are previously subjected to disinfection procedures ensuring the elimination of parasites belonging to the species Gyrodactylus salaris. The competent authorities of the Member States responsible for the regions referred to in Annex I shall submit their salmonid livestock to continuous surveillance testing and laboratory examination in order to verify the absence of Gyrodactylus salaris and present annually all the results thereof to the Commission.
