Abstract

This Chapter of the Florida Statutes, known as “Florida Commercial Feed Law”, concerns commercial feed and feedstuff. It states that the Chapter is intended to eliminate duplication of regulation over commercial feed and feedstuff. The authority to regulate, inspect, sample, and analyze any commercial feed or feedstuff distributed in this state and to exercise the powers and duties of regulation in this Chapter, including the power to assess any penalties provided for violation of this Chapter, is preempted to the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services of Florida. The Chapter further provides for master registration of distributor of commercial feed, its fee, refusal or cancellation of registration; feed labels, requirements, and penalty; laboratory certifications, application, fees, requirements, reporting, refusal or cancellation of certification; adulteration; misbranding; inspection, sampling, analysis, and exemption; detained commercial feed and feedstuff; prohibition of certain acts; penalties, duties of law enforcement officers, injunctive relief; penalty payable to consumer; and reports that the department shall submit to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Florida by October 1 of each year concerning the production, distribution, and regulation of commercial feed and feedstuff in the state.
