Abstract

These Rules amend the Coffee (General) Rules in provisions concerning, among other things: interpretations; registration and licensing of producers, millers and traders; rules of trading in coffee; promotion of Kenya coffee; notifications regarding specialty coffee intended for export; inspection of specialty coffee facilities; offences; management of the Nairobi Coffee Exchange; appointment of inspectors and inspections; and milling agreements. The Rules also insert a new rule, which provides that a local contract of sale between a marketing agent and a dealer or a buyer located in Kenya shall not qualify as direct sale.
