Abstract

The present Ordinance reproduces parts of the chapter "Coffee" (1.4 and 1.5) and "Coffee Substitutes" (1.2-1.5) of the Codex Alimentarius Austriacus (3rd ed., B12). The Act contains at the outset a definition clause relating to "coffee extracts" and "chicory extracts", and establishes their quality standards. Article 3 sets out the contents of the labels to be attached on coffee packets. The Annex deals with the assessment of the quality of coffee and chicory extracts. The Act consists of 6 articles and 1 Annex.
