Abstract

This Act vests rights and title in the seabed beneath the coastal waters of the State as described in subsection 4(1) in each of the States subject to restrictions set out in comma (2) of that subsection. Nothing in this Act affects the status of the territorial sea of Australia under international law or the rights and duties of the Commonwealth in relation to ensuring the observance of international law (sect. 6).
