Abstract This Act, consisting of 135 articles divided into 13 Chapters, establishes the modernization of the Coast Guard forces. It specifies composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Coast Guard, entitled to monitor coastal areas, to preserve the sovereignty of the geographical boundary, to prevent crimes, to establish rights over resources, to prevent illegal migration, maritime safety and the adjacent land areas such as protecting the national interests of the Bangladesh.
