This Act enters into force immediately.
Abstract

This Act aims to facilitate the formation and working of co-operative societies for the promotion of thrift, self-help and mutual aid among agriculturists and other persons with common economic needs so as to bring about better living and better methods of production and for that purpose to consolidate and amend the law relating to co-operative societies in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Territory and to apply the Co-operative Societies Act, 1925 (Act VII of 1925) as in force in West Pakistan, to the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Territory. The Co-operative Societies Act, 1925 (Act VII of 1925) shall apply to the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Territory as it applies to West Pakistan subject to the following modifications, namely: (1) for the words 'Provincial Government' wherever occurring the word "Government" shall be substituted; (2) for the expressions 'Province' and 'Province of West Pakistan' wherever occurring the expression 'Azad Jammu and Kashmir Territory' shall be substituted;
