Abstract

This Act, consisting of 19 sections divided into three Parts and repealing the two schedules, aims to: help Tasmania respond to the challenges of climate change by providing for the setting of a target for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions; promote energy efficiency and conservation; promote research and development in the development and use of technology for reducing or limiting greenhouse gas emissions; identify, promote and support measures to help Tasmania deal with and adapt to the expected consequences of climate change; etc.
