This Act enters into force on 5 November 2010 except for sections 1 and 2 which enter into force on 4 November 2010.
Abstract

This Act aims to set targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase renewable energy use and generation in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT); provide for monitoring of and reporting on progress made in the ACT to meet targets; facilitate the government’s development of policies and programmes to meet the targets and to address and adapt to climate change; and to encourage private entities to take action to address climate change and recognize the entities that take action.
