Abstract

This Circular provides for amateur fishing activities on marine and inland waters for the fishing season starting in September 2002 and ending in August 2004. A Fishing Certificate is granted to Turkish citizens involved in amateur fishing activities. Travel agencies organizing fishery tours shall possess "Special Fishing Permits" issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Moreover, depending on the site selected for the fishing trips, the above mentioned agencies should also possess "Special Fishing Permits" for each fishing session issued by Provincial or local branches of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, or from local branches of the Ministry of Forestry. Foreigner citizens, residing in the country, shall be presented with Fishing Certificates for such activities. Fishing seasons and restrictions (specie, size and allowable catch) are listed. Definition of allowed fishing methods and gear are included in the Circular and also a list of protected fish species.
