Abstract

This Chief Executive Notice ratifies the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use of Techniques Modifying the Environment for Military or any other Harmful Purposes. It consist of 10 articles and 1 annex regulating human activities in order to avoid the deliberate manipulation of natural processes, such as: dynamics, composition or structure of the Earth, including its biosphere, lithosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere or of outer space. In accordance with the provisions of Article 153 of the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China and Article 138 of the Basic Law of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, the Government of the People’s Republic of China decides that the Convention shall apply to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China. The Convention was adopted in New York, on 10 December 1976.
