Abstract

These Regulations implement provisions of the Chemical Control Fertilizers Act, 1978 by making provision for the procedure of the granting of licences issued pursuant to section 3 of the Act. These licences grant the right to trade in chemical fertilizers. Applications for licences shall be made to the Chief Agricultural Officer. A licence granted by the Chief Agricultural Officer shall be in the form as set out in the Schedule to these Regulations. Cooperative societies shall be exempted from paying a fee for a licence. One of the conditions of licence is that chemical fertilizers shall be stored separately from foodstuffs.
