Abstract

This Chapter aims at the safeguarding of quality of drinking water by prescribing rules relative to the sinking of wells and pumps and lays down standards for the supply of and provides rules for the control of drinking water by all public water systems that collect and treat water and sell water to any person. The Chapter specifies standards with regard to residues and other qualities of water supplied by public water systems. It also specifies methods for the analysis and monitoring of foreign substances in water. The Chapter further provides for a variety of matters relative to safe drinking water such as record keeping, surveys, inventory of water systems, emergency plans and public hearings.
