Providing sewerage services by the Authority under these Regulations or any agreement shall never be compulsory according to regulation 4. The Authority mat construct sewerage works in accordance with regulation 5 and may relocate sewers in accordance with regulation 6.The Authority may declare sewerage works to be effective in a specified area under regulation 7. Regulations 10 to 26 provide for the approval of construction of private sewerage systems and the control of their operation. Regulation 18 concerns the discharge into sewers of sewage from vessels. The Authority may prohibit the discharge of any specified waste into sewers for a specific area and may enter into a Trade Waste Agreement for the discharge, storage or treatment of trade waste of any trade specified under regulation 31or any waste specified in the Fifth Schedule (reg. 28). The Agreement may place restrictions on the discharge of waste and prescribe the manner in which the waste is to be treated, stored, discharged or deposited. Regulation 32 prohibits certain acts in declared areas and certain acts shall be subject to approval by the Manager of the Authority under regulation 33. Regulations 34 to 38 concern sewerage charges. No buildings shall be constructed over sewers unless he or she is authorized to do so by these Regulations (reg. 39). Authorized officers may order trees and shrubs within a given distance of a sewerage work to be removed pursuant to regulation 40. Regulation 43 prohibits unlawful connections.
