The overall goal of this policy is to promote gender equality and sustainable human development in the Cayman Islands through good governance, fairness to both women and men, and equal status for both women and men in national development and the development of the society as a whole. Strategic objectives of this Policy are gender-sensitivity; awareness-raising on gender equality; integration of both women and men in the development process; equal participation of women and men in decision-making processes related to development; strengthened institutional framework to initiate, coordinate, implement, monitor and evaluate national gender responsive development plans; and economic, social and physical security of men and women.
