The present Ordinance enters into force on 1 January 2008.
Abstract

The present Ordinance by the Federal Minister for Agriculture and Forestry, Environment and Water Resources implements, inter alia, the Regulation (EC) No. 1760/2000 of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a system for the identification and registration of bovine animals and Commission Regulation (EC) No. 494/98 laying down detailed rules for the implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No. 820/97 as regards the application of minimum administrative sanctions in the framework of the system for the identification and registration of bovine animals. Article 2 establishes that the "Austrian Agrarmarkt" (AMA) is responsible for the enforcement of this Ordinance. The text - consisting of 16 articles - deals with the following matters: sphere of application, competence, marking, keeping of register, electronic database, notification on behalf of the animal keeper, animal identification, killing of animals and disposal of carcasses and their safe disposal, legal aid fees, transmission of data and final provisions.
