Subject Livestock Keyword Drugs Animal health International trade Standards Geographical area Europe, Europe and Central Asia, European Union Countries, Northern Europe Abstract This Regulation prescribes the procedures for importing and exporting veterinary medicinal products; and the border crossing points through which it is permitted to import and export veterinary medicinal products that contain the substances included in the Register II or III of the laws and regulations regarding narcotic substances, psychotropic substances and precursors controlled in Latvia (hereinafter – the veterinary narcotic and psychotropic medicinal products). This Regulation shall not apply to medicated feedingstuffs; veterinary medicinal products that contain radioactive isotopes; additives of feedingstuffs which, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 September 2003 on additives for use in animal nutrition have been published on the website of the European Commission in the Register of Feed Additives; biocidal products; and products for animal care. In addition to the requirements laid down in this Regulation, the veterinary narcotic and psychotropic medicinal products shall be imported and exported in conformity with the requirements specified in the law On Procedures for the Legal Trade of Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances and Medicinal Products.
