Abstract

This Regulation prescribes the safety requirements for bulk carriers which are related to loading or unloading of solid bulk cargoes and which shall be observed at terminals of the Republic of Latvia in order to reduce the risks of excessive stresses and physical damage to the ship's structure during loading or unloading and ensure mutual suitability harmonisation for those ships and terminals, as well as prescribes the procedures for harmonised mutual cooperation and communication between those ships and terminals. The purpose of the Regulation is to regulates maritime safety and the prevention of pollution from ships.
