Abstract This Regulation consisting of 3 articles establishes that the drilling of artesian wells in Qatar shall be halted until the United Nations completes its mission aiming at (i) surveying arable land, (ii) surveying the available groundwater, (iii) knowing its sources and quantities, and (iv) setting a plan to ensure the proper exploitation of this water in the public interest (art.1). Subsequently, the Ministries of Electricity and Water, and Industry and Agriculture shall consult before authorizing the drilling of any new artesian well (art.2).
