In particulars, it applies to the breeding of horses, cattle, swines, goats and sheep. The Act aims at making available to the animal breeding and production industry the necessary financial means in order to improve the health of animals, to ensure the high standards of animal products, to promote modern breeding methods, and to maintain genetic multiplicity. The text consists of 30 articles divided into 5 chapters as follows: General provisions (1); Breeding organizations and assessment of performance (2); Transfer of breeding animals and transfer of semen, egg cells and embryos (3); Authorities, Animal Breeding Commission, monitoring, external trade, ordinances and penalties (4); Final provisions (5).
