Abstract

These Regulations implement the provisions laid down under European Union Council Directive 88/661/EEC on the zootechnical standards applicable to breeding animals of the porcine species. They govern trade with European Union Member States of pure-bred breeding swines and further regulate the establishment of herdbooks. Further provisions regard the keeping of the list of breeders’ associations and organizations.
