Abstract

The Ordinance aims at the protection and encouragement of breastfeeding, and at prohibiting the advertisement, import, distribution and sale of breast-milk substitutes. Furthermore, breast-milk substitutes shall have to be sold under certain conditions as per their labelling. Companies contravening the Ordinance shall be deemed guilty and the person in charge or representing the Company will be legally prosecuted. The definition of what has to be intended as breast-milk substitutes is reported in clause 2.
