The Act opens up shareholding of the Commission to the Government and members of the public. The Act further provides for appointment of office holders, tax exemptions, an employee share ownership plan, etc. As soon as practicable after the conversion date, the Company shall apply under the Livestock and Meat Industries Act (Cap. 36:03) for a licence authorising the Company to operate any abattoir.
