The Agency shall, among other things, prepare a comprehensive programme of action for the development of the border communities; (b) prepare and submit proposals on project for the Border Communities to the President; (c) advise the Federal Government on border areas development and other related issues; (d) consult with the relevant border communities and liaise with the Federal Government on areas required for the overall development in order to maintain, sustain and develop border communities; (e) identify and determine in each year, such deliberate or conscious infrastructural project required for the overall development of the border communities; (f) execute such border development policies, projects and programmes in the border communities. The Act also establishes the Governing Board of the Agency.
