Abstract The Board shall be a body corporate. The functions of the Board shall be to promote, assist and develop in any manner which the Board considers necessary or desirable the marketing of Irish food and livestock (sect. 7). Particular functions of the Board are outlined in section 8. These include the promotion of the marketing of food and the operation of quality assurance schemes and the evaluation of such schemes. The Board shall set up a subsidiary board for meat and livestock and may set up boards for other functions (sect. 13). There shall be charged and levied by and paid to the Board levies as specified in section 37.
