Abstract This Resolution approves the Technical Regulation on Goods and Imported Products for Sanitary Surveillance purposes. It approves model criteria for import authorization to be made available at ANVISA's electronic address. Importation of goods or products under sanitary surveillance shall be preceded by a positive expression of the sanitary authority. Only goods and products under sanitary surveillance meeting sanitary requirements shall be authorized for being imported, delivered to consumption, exposed to sale for human consumption. Goods and products under sanitary surveillance, destined to commerce, industry or direct consumption, should have the authorized importation regulated by the National Sanitary Surveillance Agency. Products belonging to the classes of food, perfumes, cosmetics, hygiene products, detergents, diagnostic products, medical products, at an intermediate stage of their production or manufacturing process, semi-processed and bulk product stages shall be submitted to the technical department of the importing company within the national territory, for laboratory tests, necessary to prove their nature, identity and quality.
