Abstract This Order approves the Technical Regulation on Flavouring Additives. This Technical Regulation, consisting of nine sections, applies to flavouring additives which are produced and marketed in the territories of the States Parties of MERCOSUR, to being traded between them and imported from outside the zone. This Regulation does not apply to the following: a) substances which confer exclusively sweet, salty or acidic flavour; b) substances and food products with fragrance and/or sapid properties which are consumed unprocessed, with or without reconstitution; c) substances of plant or animal origin which have intrinsic flavouring properties when they are not used exclusively as source of flavourings.
