Abstract

This Act concerns the protection of a prescribed species or sub-species of birds ("protected birds"). Taking of a protected birds (or eggs of a protected bird) requires a permit to be granted by authority. The competent authority may declare open seasons for protected birds and authorize the taking of any protected bird for: a scientific purpose; a purpose relating to propagation; or a prescribed purpose.
