Abstract

In sub-section (1) of section 1 of the principal Act, for the section 1 words “Bengal Diseases of Animals Act”, the words “Bengal Diseases of Livestock Act” shall be substituted. Other amendments made to the Bengal Diseases of Animals Act, 1944 include: amendments on provisions for report of contagious disease, duty to segregate infective animals, declaration of infected areas, preventive vaccination in infected areas, prohibition of movement of livestock into or out of infected areas, etc.
