Abstract

The present Act lays down provisions relating to the bee industry. In particular, section 3 establishes that every beekeeper or person planning to become a beekeeper shall register with the Apiculturist. The text – consisting of 21 sections – deals with the following aspects: registration, importation of bees or equipment, delegation by Minister, Apiculturist, bee quarantine districts, sale or transfer of bees or equipment, infected honeycomb or honey, inspectors, order by inspector, order respecting disposal, order by justice of the peace, disinfection, duty respecting reportable disease and offence and penalty.
