Abstract

This Act promotes a healthy Bee Industry and is divided into 8 parts as follows: 1 Short title; 2 Interpretation; 3 Supervision of Act and regulations; 4 Bee quarantine district; 5 (1) Interpretation of Section; 5 (2) Duties of inspector; 5 (3) Powers of inspector; 6 Regulations; 7 Offence and penalty and 8 Part XIV of Agriculture and Marketing Act. The Minister may declare the Province, or a part thereof, to be a bee quarantine district. Accordingly no person shall move bees or beekeeping equipment into or through the bee quarantine district except under the authority and in accordance with the terms of a permit issued by the Minister. An inspector shall make such inspections of apiaries throughout the Province as the inspector considers necessary to discover and suppress bee diseases or pests.
