Article 1 establishes that the public forest contributes to the general welfare in a special way and is therefore in accordance with Article 18 of the Bavarian Forest Law to be managed exemplary. It is the purpose of the present Law to transfer the task of good management of public forests from the state administration to a legal entity of public law, as well as to establish its tasks and organization. The entity shall be called “Bavarian State Forests”.
